Richard Hammerton
Richard Hammerton is a Project Assistant for Carbon Forum, and covers an ever expanding range of activities from public speaking to photography, and much more. He also drinks prodigious quantities of tea. Richard has a B.Sc. in Environmental Science & Geography, and a M.Sc. Architecture: Applied Environmental & Energy Studies, so he has a very good understanding of the natural environment and the role of humans within it. He is originally from Peterborough, and before coming to live in Shrewsbury has also spent time in York and west Wales.
Richard has worked in various environmental jobs including an organic nursery, an environmental community centre & urban nature park, and as a volunteer with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Outside of work, Richard likes camping, walking, trying to grow food in a small back yard, painting, drawing and sculpture, reading, green woodworking and photography. He believes that given the right information anyone can be convinced that avoiding climate change is in their own interest, and his main aim is to find the most effective ways to communicate these key facts and inspire as many people as he can to start taking positive action.
Richard’s current areas of work focus on Carbon Talk and Carbon Learn.
