January was the warmest on record....

January was the warmest January on record. In fact, the warmest ever January night was also recorded in London - a balmy 14 degrees celcius. The met office has just announced that February was the sunniest on record - 106.1 hours of sunshine - smashing the previous record set in 1970 of 94.4 hours (thats a 12% increase!). Climate change anyone? Hmmmm, two weeks ago it was -12 degress celcius in North Yorkshire (I was there) and this weekend there was snow across the country. At the same time I went for a 50 mile bike ride in glorious sunshine. In Europe 8 people died in 120mph winds.
