The amount of land, in hectares, that Malaysia intends to cover with oil palm by 2010, more than double the current figure. (Countryfile magazine, December issue). Oil palm growth is now seen as the biggest threat to rainforest and peatland destruction in Southeast Asia.

A MARKETING campaign that provoked ‘car rage' among some of Britain's motoring writers by converting the iconic playground game Top Trumps to promote green vehicles is up for an award.

Climate change charity Marches Energy Agency isn't often listed alongside major car manufacturers, but it is competing with BMW and Citroen for the GreenFleet ‘Green Marketing Campaign of the Year'.

It's the monthly Green Drinks night, held at the Loggerheads on the first Wednesday of the month and back after a month off in January.....
